100 days 100 galleries; Day 8: Modern Eden, San Francisco, CA

Me: I need your advice, if it’s possible to ask you a question.
I’ve been trying to approach to galleries to show my work sending mails and messages with no response at all.
How do you choose your artists? How you find them? Is it from Instagram or another social network? Is it on show or with collectors?
I promise you not insisting more or trying to sell my work but I really want to know what I’m doing wrong.
Any advice is welcome.

Gallery: (nothing)

This is a good one, note the tone of desperation in the approach, it’s even a little creepy, I would be afraid of a missive like this one.

I didn’t expect an answer on this one, it was more of a ‘try and fail’ experiment. Til now I know that a direct approach is not working but I feel that my introduction is starting to get some improvements. I remember the book “The Game” by Neil Strauss; in his book he describes the method of pick-up artist and it’s never a direct approach everything is sideways and even trying to avoid the “victim” or your final goal. Are the methods of pick-up artist valid for other purposes? let’s say trying to show your work in an art gallery? why not? that should be my kind of approach next week. Let’s see where it lead us.

On Amazon you can read: Hidden somewhere, in nearly every major city in the world, is an underground seduction lair. And in these lairs, men trade the most devastatingly effective techniques ever invented to charm women. This is not fiction. These men really exist.
