100 Days 100 Galleries; Day 73: K Contemporary, Denver CO

Since opening in 2017, K Contemporary has cultivated an environment in the historic LoDo district of Denver where artists find inspiration to be even more creative and art connoisseurs learn something new and find their next obsession. Founded by artist, curator, collector, and gallerist Doug Kacena, the gallery explores meaningful topics through engaging exhibitions, pop-up events, and art fairs. Through these immersive and expansive displays, K Contemporary acts as a catalyst to recontextualize how people talk about and experience art.

Carlos Fentanes: Are you really shared a space with another two galleries? Isn’t it hard to coordinate?
Are the styles of the gallery different?

The gallery didn’t answer.

I know, this is a hard week, but it doesn’t hurt to answer a basic question. Yes, K contemporary shared a space with another two galleries in Denver CO: Abend Gallery and Gallery 1261; I have wrote about the other two before, Abend Gallery was the one with the website broken on day 68.

So they have their petit Art Expo during the whole year in Denver; but there’s something different in Denver, Denver is a touristic city, they are busy during vacation, that’s the opposite of the big cities. Their busiest time is in Summer and during the Ski Season. K Contemporary is the most Avant Garde of the three, and as their name said, it’s about Contemporary Art.
In their page there’s nothing about submissions.
